DMEXCO: Vodafone shows application of AI-based scenario simulation from Nexoya

Marketing analytics company Nexoya presents its new function for simulating business scenarios with cross-channel campaigns and portfolios / Masterclass: ‘Co-pilot for marketing budget planning? Of course! The Vodafone approach for a lean performance strategy’

Zurich and Berlin, 2 September 2024 – Nexoya AG offers advertisers a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise digital multi-channel campaigns. The team of experts will be demonstrating its solution for scenario simulation in digital marketing to visitors to the DMEXCO trade fair on 18 and 19 September at booth EO24 in exhibition hall 8.1: The AI-supported technology enables marketers to simulate their cross-channel digital activities, test business scenarios and optimally manage investments. Nexoya offers simulations for up to six weeks in advance across all digital performance channels, cross-channel budget allocations and automated budget changes. In a masterclass on 18 September, Nexoya and Vodafone Italy will demonstrate how they use AI technology to simulate the telecommunications company’s sales and margins and strategically plan and manage digital advertising investments. Emiliano Bozzi from Vodafone Italy will report on how he has simplified short and medium-term budget planning by combining budget optimisation and scenario simulation.

Today’s performance marketing faces challenges that can be overcome thanks to AI-based scenario simulation: Budget planning is time-consuming and error-prone, as it is usually based on numerous tables, data points and assumptions. It is also difficult to answer strategically important questions. Furthermore, existing tools only enable forecasts in individual channels and do not offer a comprehensive and cross-channel view. Added to this is the challenging task of clearly communicating the impact of different budget scenarios within the organisation. Marketing managers also often lack complete transparency of their data. This makes it difficult to gain insights and take data-driven action. Finally, budget planning requires extensive data analysis and coordination within the organisation, making it a time-consuming and tedious process.

Nexoya’s scenario simulation enables marketing managers to simulate business scenarios with cross-channel campaign structures and portfolios by predicting key performance metrics such as return on ad spend (ROAS), the number of new customers or the cost per new customer. For example, it is possible to show the impact of a ten per cent reduction or increase in advertising expenditure over the next month. Or how much budget would be required to achieve an ROAS of 275 per cent. Various results can be visualised through the use of AI. Marketing managers can then choose the best way to achieve their goals.

Joint masterclass by Nexoya and Vodafone Italy
Vodafone Italy’s marketing team has combined Nexoya’s budget optimisation and scenario simulation capabilities to simplify its short and medium-term budget planning with an AI-driven co-pilot. The telecoms company used Nexoya’s AI models for digital ads to predict and simulate business scenarios for timely budget reallocation. These AI models provide predictive figures on revenue, ROAS, CPAs and diminishing returns across all channels. The user also gains deep insights into the saturation effects of channels and campaigns. Thanks to Co-Pilot, the marketing team at Vodafone Italy has significantly simplified its planning cycles and improved its responsiveness to top management. At the same time, the efficiency of the entire process has been increased.

Masterclass ‘Co-pilot for marketing budget planning? But for sure! The Vodafone approach for a lean performance strategy’

Date: 18 September, 15:15 to 15:45
Location: MC 7B
Lecture language: English

Speakers:

Marco Hochstrasser is co-founder and CEO of Nexoya AG and former Director Engineering with more than ten years of experience in software and technical leadership.

Emiliano Bozzi is Head of Digital Marketing and Data Strategy at Vodafone Italy, where he leads the integration of data-driven strategies to improve digital marketing.

Scenario simulation: a milestone in performance marketing

The further development of the Nexoya platform was presented to the professional public for the first time at the K5 Future Retail Conference on 25 June 2024. Marco Hochstrasser, co-founder and CEO of Nexoya, summarised the effects: ‘With the scenario simulation, we are marking a milestone in performance marketing. Our AI-supported technology enables marketing managers to simulate their cross-channel digital activities, test business scenarios and optimise investments. Marketing experts receive a simulation across all digital performance channels, cross-channel budget allocations with up to 30 per cent more revenue and automated budget changes with 20 to 40 per cent lower operating costs. They swap the previous tedious spreadsheets for intelligent, automated budget simulations.’

The product features of the scenario simulation:

  • Create and run business simulations with multiple scenarios based on a digital advertising portfolio
  • Deep insights into performance metrics and options
  • Recognise relationships between multiple metrics
  • Compare and communicate multiple scenarios
  • Directly apply a scenario to the current budget planning

About Nexoya

The marketing analytics company Nexoya Ltd., based in Zurich and Berlin, has been implementing automated analyses for the digital marketing of medium-sized and large companies since 2018 – in a user-friendly and data protection-compliant manner. The “nexoya Marketing Analytics” SaaS platform uses machine learning to optimise multi-channel marketing campaigns: For this purpose, the solution aggregates key figures from different channels such as Google Ads, Meta or LinkedIn, presents them clearly and takes over the monitoring of the key figures. Nexoya then optimises the campaign budgets based on the data collected and using artificial intelligence (predictive analytics). The solution relieves marketing teams of routine operational tasks, simplifies automated data-driven decisions and reduces marketing costs by up to 30 per cent. Nexoya only collects non-personalised data that is stored in certified Swiss data centres. Its customers include well-known companies such as Yuh, Generali, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Vodafone Italia and bike-components. www.nexoya.com
